Gene Bartow…Legend #4

With his birthday approaching, August 18th, we thought it would be a good time to recognize Coach Gene Bartow for all of his contributions to Memphis. Coach Bartow coached for 34 years at 6 different universities, none more important to some of us than his years with the Memphis State Tigers. He took the team to the National Championship game in 1973! On November 22nd, 2009, Coach Bartow was enshrined in the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. His fellow inductees that year included greats like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. So for all his contributions to College Basketball and especially for his work in the Memphis community, we salute one of our own legends here at Lynchburg Legends Bar & Grill….Coach Gene Bartow.
